What is it About?

The Educational Outreach Program is designed to introduce the local community to the vast array of wildlife inhabiting Sonoma County.
It also addresses wildlife emergencies and serves to promote a deeper understanding of the problems facing wildlife in an environment which is rapidly being altered by human activities. Education in the classroom is of particular importance. Many children today know very little about the wild animals that live in their area and are unaware of the tremendous impact we all have on their continued survival.

*We are looking for suggestions to help us improve our education program. Any thoughts will be considered and appreaciated. Please e-mail our Education Outreach Director with any ideas at
education@scwildliferescue.org. More information at the bottom of the page.

Improvements on our Education Program

This winter we will be throwing ideas around to better improve our education program. We have been making many changes as far as animal care goes and have decided it is time to take a closer look at our education program and make some much needed improvements. Our focus is to teach people of all ages how to peacefully co-exist with wildlife and how we can protect these amazing creatures habitats and learn how to live in close proximity to them. As development of land continues we will see animals forced into our back yards more and more and we want to be there to teach about their natural behaviors so we can better understand them.

We are looking for any and all suggestions on how we could teach these ideas to people from preschoolers to adults in a more effective manor. Please contact our Education Outreach Director by e-mail only at
education@scwildliferescue.org. We appreciate your thoughts and ideas.
