We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Front Desk Support Staff:

Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue in Petaluma, California, is looking for a full-time, seasonal front desk person. Failure to submit a cover letter with your resume will result in your immediate disqualification. This position will be a summer position and will end in October. Job duties will include, but are not limited to:

-Answering phones.

-Educating the public about how to best handle problems with nuisance wildlife.

-Giving Public Tours to the general public and also to large school classes.

-Teaching classes as directed to do so by the Support Coordinator.

-Must not be uncomfortable with public speaking.

-Admitting patients into our system, both on paper and into our online database.

-Interacting with the public on a daily basis.

-Selling our wildlife deterrent, "Predator Scent," which is feces kept in a freezer. Handling it with gloves WILL be a part of your daily routine.

-Maintaining a calm, professional manner when it gets busy and with all interactions with the public.

-Maintaining a calm, professional manner when admitting patients, not excitable.

-Intuitive and common sense individuals are highly preferred.

-Being a team player is a must. Must work cohesively with the Support Coordinator and Animal Care Staff.

-Must be timely. Candidates late for their "meet and greets" will be immediately disqualified.

As mentioned, this job is full time through October (it's baby season!). Hours will be from 9:00 - 5:30.

Interim Director of Animal Care:

Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue is looking for an Interim Director of Animal Care. This position will start in July and end in November. It will be a full time position, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday-. Desired Candidates:

-Are not required to be a Registered Veterinary Technician, though it is a plus.

- Must have experience working with wildlife.

-Must have experience managing several people.

-Excellent public relations experience.

-Must work cohesively and under the direction of our Veterinarian Of Record and Executive Director.

-Must have experience working in a face-paced, stressful environment.

-Able to work with volunteers/give them guidance and direction.

-Must be prompt. Candidates who are late for their interviews will be immediately disqualified.
